Police, CFS and SES attended the scene of a single car accident on the Playford Highway on Saturday. Both male and female occupants from the UK were lucky to exit the vehicle without serious injury. The roof of the vehicle was caved in on a roadside tree near the junction of Mt Taylor Road. The Hyundai sedan sustained damage worth $8000.
Police, CFS and SES attended an accident on the corner of Hog Bay Road and Arranmore Road about 8.30pm last Thursday. A Toyota utility was found at the scene, which had skidded off the road, and into a street signs. The driver was spoken to and reported for driving without due care. The vehicle sustained about $6000 damage.
Horse Rider flown out
Police were called to a rider who fell from her horse at the pony club. The girl was flown by helicopter to an Adelaide hospital as a precautionary measure, checking for spinal damage. She was cleared of any serious injury. CFS, SES and private vehicles provided light for a landing site on the club grounds.
Traffic offences
On Monday April 21 a Kingscote man was detected by hand held laser travelling at 122kmh in the 110kmh zone on Playford Highway.
An American River male was spoken to regarding riding his unregistered motor bike in the American River area and reported for the offence.
Club theft
The Kangaroo Island Racing Club was broken into and a quantity of alcohol taken between April 21 and 23. Crime scene attended and investigated the evidence left by the offenders.
Noise order
Police were called to a Kingscote address on April 23 and for a second time on April 24 and the occupant was given an environmental protection order to cease all noise for 72 hours.
