A brown Holden sedan was stolen from the driveway of a Margaret Street, Kingscote, house between 4.30pm and 9.30pm on Friday. The vehicle was dumped on Lovers Lane, where a grey Mitsubishi Magna sedan was stolen from the yard of a house on Lovers Lane, Kingscote. This vehicle was found by members of the public on North Coast Road, Kingscote, who helped police identify the offender.
Police arrested a 14-year-old boy of Kingscote for illegal use (two counts) and driving while unlicensed, unregistered, uninsured and possessing alcohol. He has been bailed to attend the Kingscote Youth Court.
Police also reported two girls, 16, one from Kingscote and one from Reynella for two counts of illegal use regarding the two stolen vehicles. Files are being prepared by police for the offenders to be dealt with by the Juvenile Justice System.
A white Holden Utility was reported stolen from a driveway on Centenary Ave, Kingscote, overnight on July 8 and 9. It was later found on the Playford Highway-Burdon Drive corner having been involved in a minor accident. Police are seeking witnesses and information about this matter.
Vehicle accidents
Police attended the scene of a single vehicle accident that occurred about 2.20pm on Monday July 7 on Cape Willoughby Rd, Penneshaw. The driver, a 54-year-old woman from Penneshaw, left the road out of control in her Nissan Station Wagon due to water across the road, colliding with a tree causing about $3000 damage. There were no injuries.
Lost property
Police would like to remind members of the public that if they find property it should be handed into police who try to find the owners. If no owner is found in 24 days, the property is returned to the finder.
Traffic offences
A 60-year-old womanfrom Kingscote was issued with an expiation notice for speeding on Playford Hwy, Kingscote about 2.45pm on July 8.
Stolen
Builders reported a nail gun stolen from the new pharmacy building on Murray Stt, Kingscote overnight of July 7 and July 8 where an unknown offender gained entry to the building and stole the nail gun.
Property damage
Police took a report of property damage that occurred to a private house on Giles St, Kingscote about 9pm on Saturday where the offender smashed two windows. The offender has been identified by the occupants.
Drink driving
An Emu Bay man, 42, was arrested on Sunday in Kingscote after being stopped by police for a mobile driver test. He was charged with drink driving with a reading of 0.155. He was also charged with refusing to state a name and address, resisting arrest and aggravated assault.
He was issued with an immediate loss of licence for a period of 12 months and was bailed to appear at Kingscote Court at a later date.
